Disable Disqus Comments on WordPress Pages

Disqus is a good comment plugin system for WordPress which I use on all of my sites. Basically, Disqus plugin checks if comments are allowed on posts and pages in your wordpress site. If comments are allowed, Disqus will automatically insert the commenting system. If not, then it will not display the comments.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to simply remove Disqus comments on wordpress pages.

  1. Login to your wordpress administration panel.
  2. In your wordpress dashboard, click Pages.
  3. Hover your mouse on the page you want to remove comments from and click Quick Edit.
  4. On QUICK EDIT Panel, untick the “Allow Comments” and click Update.
  5. View your update page and comments are now disabled on this page. Perform similar procedures if you want to remove comments on other pages on your site.

  • Seriously? You just saved me tons of time. I tried several code replacement options in the plugin and in pages.php and none worked. Why isn’t this available in the normal page editing view I wonder. Nice work, and many thanks!!

Yes. It was that simple. It’s also available in the normal page editing view. Look at the top right corner and hit “Screen Options”. Check “Discussion” and scroll down. You will see the “Allow Comments” checkbox under Discussion panel.

  • Yeah i finally figured that out too. Thanks for sharing!!

  • It simply close comments, but you always see Disqus box area on page. There’s a way in order to disable (not close, u can do it on close thread on command options) Disqus on single pages?

  • I could hug you! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing that!! No more comments on my pages = one happy me 🙂

  • Thank you so much for this! It worked like a charm on my pages where there weren’t any comments. However, on the pages that I already had comments, the Disqus box is still displaying. Any ideas on how to remove it? I deleted the comments but it’s still showing…
    Thank you!
